THE HARDEST PART ------ Coldplay

"The Hardest Part" is a song by English alternative rock band Coldplay. It was written by all four members of the band for their third album, X&Y. A piano-based ballad song, it begins with a two-note piano melody, followed with electric guitar lines, that accompanies a slow tempo drumming.

It was released on 3 April 2006 as the fourth single from X&Y. The song was released as a radio-only song on United Kingdom radio stations. It appeared on the United States Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart and peaked at number 37.

The song was well received by critics. The track was complimented for its musical style: unbelievably uplifting, amazing, something that "just eases the pain all the time".

For those who haven't watched it yet, the video might really surprise you... check it out!

WHAT I'VE DONE ------ Linkin Park

"What I've Done" is a song by the American rock band Linkin Park, and the first single from their third studio album, Minutes to Midnight. The song was released as a radio single on April 1, 2007

Chester Bennington himself described the track in a March 2007 interview with MTV:

Joe came up to Mike and me and asked us to take the whole idea of Minutes to Midnight and apply that to how the band has changed. So, in a way, it's us saying goodbye to how we used to be...The lyrics in the first verse are 'In this farewell, there's no blood, there's no alibi,' and right away, you'll notice that the band sounds different: The drums are much more raw, the guitars are more raw and the vocals aren't tripled. It's just us out there ...

In any case, even with that change of pace/style and that clear social/environmental message it's definitely a great song from this awesome band!

AN END HAS A START ------ Editors

"An End Has a Start" is the title track and second single from Editors' second album. The single was released September 3, 2007. The song was used by the American Movie Channel as the backtrack in a montage style commercial, giving the track considerable exposure that it otherwise would not have received.

Editors are a British indie rock/post-punk revival band from Birmingham, England, composed of Tom Smith (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Chris Urbanowicz (guitar), Russ Leetch (bass) and Ed Lay (drums), who met while studying at Staffordshire University, in Stafford, England during 2003. They take their inspiration from bands such as Echo & The Bunnymen, R.E.M., Joy Division and Elbow

Gorgeous, melodic, emotional, great lyrics, a full sound, and tons of energy, today's song is one of their best.
