ATLANTIS IS CALLING (S.O.S. FOR LOVE) ------ Modern Talking
Atlantis is Calling (S.O.S. for Love) is Modern Talking's second single released from the third album Ready for Romance, and it's their fifth consecutive single to reach No. 1 on the German single chart. It was released in Germany and in other European territories on May 19, 1986, it peaked at No. 1 in Germany on June 16, 1986 after spending two weeks at No. 2 position. The single spent four weeks at the top and total of 14 weeks on the top-100. While "Atlantis is Calling (S.O.S. for Love)" entered the top-5 in Switzerland, Austria and Sweden, it managed to enter the top-10 in The Netherlands and Norway.

OBSESSION ------ See-Saw
See-Saw is a Japanese pop duo (formerly a trio) originally from Tokyo, Japan. Its members include Chiaki Ishikawa (vocals) and Yuki Kajiura; former member Yukiko Nishioka (西岡 由紀子, Nishioka Yukiko?) left the group in April 1994 to pursue a writing career. The group temporarily disbanded in 1995, but reunited in 2001.
The duo of Ishikawa and Kajiura performed opening and ending themes in several anime series, including .hack//SIGN and .hack//Liminality, two insert songs for Noir, the first ending theme to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, and the final ending theme to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny.
This track is one of their finest achievements, something definitely worth trying.

YOU'RE ALL I HAVE ------ Snow Patrol
"You're All I Have" is the first single from Snow Patrol's fourth album, Eyes Open. It was released 24 April 2006. It became the band's second big hit after the success of "Run" in 2004, peaking at #7 on the UK singles chart. According to Gary Lightbody: "It’s near the beginning of a dangerously reliant relationship. The album is full of songs like this. Rather than a break up record this is a make up record. That is a massive generalization but it is a more positive record than the last". He has said that "the song is about a damaging but fulfilling relationship, something that terrifies you, but you can't quite bring yourself to look away".
There is a keening momentum and inevitably busted emotional power to Gary Lightbody that suggest all of our dreams are about to come true with the rhythm of this song...

GIVEN UP ------ Linkin Park
"Given Up" is a song by Linkin Park, the song was released as the fourth single from their third studio album Minutes to Midnight.
It is one of the heavier songs on the album. It notably features a eighteen second-long scream by Chester Bennington before the final chorus, as well as a steady guitar riff for the choruses of the song. The scream is split into two 9 second long screams when performed live allowing Chester to catch his breath, although he has completed the full scream in various live performances.
The video consists of live clips from the shows and has been edited together in a sharp, rugged manner which contains short cut scenes with many special effects mainly altering the coloring. Transitions between cut scenes are in a style of warn analog tape distortion giving the video an even more rugged, tough appearance.

NEXT IN LINE ------ Dead Letter Circus
Dead Letter Circus is an awesome alternative rock band from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Three members of the defunct Brisbane band Ochre formed Dead Letter Circus in 2005, releasing one self-titled EP, and the singles "Disconnect And Apply", "Next In Line" and "The Space On The Wall".Next in Line opens with an almost frenetic pace. Rob Marics guitar riffage is fantastic, while the drums and bass follow its syncopation giving an odd time felt main riff. Also Kim Benzies vocals are beyond fabulous, filling the track with hooks galore.
This is definitely a really good song for anyone that loves fast-paced alternative rock... it´s just a pity that such a great band does not have the attention it deserves!

SLIPPING AWAY ------ Mansun
Mansun were an English indie band formed in Chester in 1995. The band comprised vocalist/rhythm guitarist Paul Draper, bassist Stove King, lead guitarist/backing vocalist Dominic Chad, and drummer Andie Rathbone. They came to prominence in the mid-nineties British indie/ guitar-rock resurgence, despite pursuing their own path away from any of the emerging scenes.Mansun disbanded in May 2003. This was a culmination of band tensions which had seen one of the original members leave (Stove King). Disappointed by the poor reception of their 3rd album, the band folded with little fanfare of their passing.
Due to pressure from their fans, EMI released the posthumous “4th album”, Kleptomania, which was a three CD set containing rough recordings of tracks slated to be on the unfinished 4th album, b-sides and rarities... today's song was Mansun's last single, a great example of their magnificent music. Enjoy!

"Overture" is the opening song for best-selling videogame Final Fantasy VIII, composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Epic music for an epic game: this is one of the most powerful tunes in FFVIII
Regular series composer Nobuo Uematsu wrote the soundtrack for Final Fantasy VIII. He tried to base the songs off of the emotional content of when they would be played, asserting that expressing the emotions he desires is more important than improving skills: "I think it will be a shame if we won't be able to cry as we play our own game".

Maaya Sakamoto made her debut as a voice actress in 1996 as the voice of Hitomi Kanzaki in the hit anime series The Vision of Escaflowne, and released her debut single Yakusoku wa Iranai, in collaboration with Yoko Kanno under Victor Entertainment on April 24, 1996. Since her 1996 debut, she is among the more popular voice actresses who have also branched into singing, performing songs in both English and Japanese

MAP OF THE PROBLEMATIQUE ------ Muse
"Map of the problematique" is a song by English alternative rock band Muse, released on their 2006 fourth studio album, Black Holes and Revelations. It was released as the fifth single from the album on 18 June 2007 as a digital download only.
The song has been closely compared to "Enjoy the Silence" by Depeche Mode due to its similar chord progression and arrangement. Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has also cited Depeche Mode as inspiration for the song in interviews.
The song reached number 18 in the UK singles chart in its first week of release, and was more successful than "Invincible", the previous single.
The title is a reference to a book called Limits to Growth and the Club of Rome think-tank who would create a “map of the problematique” detailing the “global problematique”— a set of likely challenges the world might face in the near future.

THE HEINRICH MANEUVER ------ Interpol
"The Heinrich Maneuver" is a song by New York-based indie rock band Interpol's third album, Our Love to Admire. It is the first single from the album.
This song features the familiar spiky (mostly single note) guitar lines, insistent drumming, and fluid bass work one has become accustomed to hearing from these guys. Singer Paul Banks's lyrics and vocal melody are the most interesting elements here and this tune is thematically more direct than usual. Interpol's songs have tended to be brooding and ambiguous, but lines like "How are things on the West Coast?" and "Today my heart swings" almost certainly allude to a break up while coming across as uncharacteristically upbeat.
The video is defintely worth watching: it is a single take of the main character, a woman in a white dress, shown in extreme slow motion applying lipstick and walking towards her demise, being hit by a bus. This overlays three other characters whose reactions to the event unfold in a mixture of speed altered motion, initially proceeding forward and then reversing. A man taking out his cellphone, a vogue lady screaming, and a waiter running to the scene...

"Be Still" is a truly awesome song from American DJ and record producer Kaskade, belonging to his fourth solo album Love Mysterious, which was released in September 2006. "Be Still", reached #4 on Billboard Magazine’s Hot Dance Club Play. The single features vocalist Sunsun, and includes remixes by Jay-J and Robbie Rivera.
Kaskade is the stage name for Ryan Raddon, a DJ/producer/remixer/artist who was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1972, raised in Salt Lake City, Utah as a teen, and now calls San Francisco, California home.
Prior to being a recording artist, he was a record store owner and a club DJ at a nightclub in Salt Lake City as a way to make ends meet for him and his wife.
